Whispers from the Rift is a psychologically immersive, choice-driven sci-fi action/horror experience. Guide a fractured man, Robert Jenkins, through a parallel but vastly different world shaped by mind control, otherworldly entities, and morally complex decisions that challenge the nature of free will.
December 21st, 2028: Robert Jenkins is tasked to lead an international mission to infiltrate an illegal Japanese weapon facility. Every step of the way, his fate is in your hands. Supplant his thoughts, direct his actions, and dictate his words. Though initially unaware of your presence in his mind, your commands carry weight while his life and sanity hang in the balance.
Whispers from the Rift is a standalone prequel set fourteen years before the events of CONSORTIUM VR / Remastered (also available here on Steam). *Prior knowledge of the Consortium universe is NOT required*
Robert Jenkins: The man you will be inhabiting and the leader of a covert Global Senate mission in the mountains of Japan. With a background in the Canadian military, he has worked for the Senate since the end of the Wars. Despite feeling out of his depth, Jenkins is inexplicably drawn to this mission.
Colin Wheats: The mission’s recruiter, Wheats is an American-born Senate operative with long-standing connections to the Guardian Church. His record from the Wars is well documented, though he has been out of action for the last five years.
Eliska Soltz: Former Israeli Special Forces, Soltz was trained primarily in reconnaissance and infiltration. Unlike the others, she has no prior allegiance to the Senate and makes little effort to hide her distrust of everything.
Jiang Shi: The most important and mysterious of all. Jiang is a Chinese national who was exiled from her homeland under mysterious circumstances when she was barely twenty years old. Jiang has intimate knowledge of the weapon facility and intends to disable it once and for all.
Philip Lancaster: The mission's wild card. Spy by nature, his true nationality is unknown, and the vast majority of information on his work has been redacted or buried. With his happy-go-lucky personality, Lancaster has said that life is like a video game meant to be played until all its secrets and achievements are discovered.
